Kelli Anderson practices criminal defense and family law in Southwest Missouri. She is drive by her passion for justice and representation. Kelli has had a lifelong desire to serve the interests of justice and has achieved excellence both in the scholarship and practice of law. Kelli has been described by her clients as a fierce courtroom advocate and compassionate legal counselor.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude, first in her class, from Southern Illinois University School of Law, Kelli became a Public Advocate in the State of Kentucky. As an Advocate, in the State of Kentucky, representing more than 1,200 individuals facing criminal charges, including serious accusations such as first degree murder. She developed a reputation as a as a tenacious trial attorney and passionate advocate for her clients before the bench.
After leaving her position as an Advocate, Kelli relocated to her hometown of Springfield, Missouri, where she began working as an Associate with the firm of Evans & Dixon, LLC. As an associate, Kelli represented businesses throughout the State of Missouri in Workers' Compensation matters. She excelled at her work, which included analyzing dense medical records, negotiating settlements of claims, and arguing for her clients at administrative hearings.
Kelli then opened her own practice here in Springfield to practice the areas of law that she loves--criminal defense and family law. What sets Kelli apart is more than her trial skills and courtroom effectiveness. It is her approach to the practice of law. She understands that her clients are going through something unexpected, confusing, and frightening. She explains the law to her clients in simple terms, and ensures the client understands what is happening, what their options are and how long the process with take. Kelli believes securing the best outcome in any case begins with having compassion for her client.
During law school, Kelli was a decorated scholar. She was awarded six CALI Legal Excellence Awards, including awards in Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, and First Amendment Rights. She ranked first in her class each semester. She was selected for a completive two-year internship with the Federal Public Defender where she worked on a variety of federal matters including capital murder proceedings.
Prior to law school, Kelli obtained a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from The University of Texas at Arlington. Kelli graduated Magna Cum Laude, ranking 9th in her class.
